There are many wonderful places to visit and spaces to enjoy at Couran Cove Island Resort.
Walking: Enjoy nature in all its glory, soak up the serenity and grab some exercise as well. There are many sealed walking tracks criss-crossing the Resort and surrounding bushland. Or if you are feeling adventurous, the island has a vast array of bush walking tracks too.
Bike Hire: This is one of the best ways to get around the Resort and are available to hire.
Resort Train: Our resort train operates 7 days 11am & 1pm along Surf Beach Road, stopping at key stations. Times are subject to change and extra trains operate during School Holiday periods.
Places to visit
Resort Lagoon: Located within the Resort and accessed through the activities lawn. Kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and inflatable islands are all complementary for our guests. The lagoon is also home to an abundance of marine life.
The Broadwater: The world-famous Gold Coast Broadwater is a large, shallow estuary of water stretching from Southport to the southern section of the World Heritage-listed Moreton Bay. The calm, expansive waters of the Broadwater are home to dolphins, fish and birdlife that use a variety of habitats to breed, nurse young, seek refuge or feed.
Rainforest Boardwalk: Explore the sub-tropical rain forest, interact with the local wildlife and learn how our nature has developed a self-sustaining eco-system on the iconic sand island of South Stradbroke.
Spa Island: Relax by the two Resort pools, enjoy a delicious lunch, a smoothie or a refreshing beverage. Spa Island is a favourite hang-out not just for guests, but also for our resident wallabies and other wildlife.
VR World at Couran Cove: Step into incredible virtual worlds and experience entertainment in new and extraordinary ways. Our state-of-the-art VR equipment and other fun toys really has to be experienced to be appreciated. Please click here for more details.
Sports Centre: A range of sporting and recreational facilities are available at the Sports Centre Complex. Many of the facilities and equipment here at the Resort are complimentary for our guests – from tennis to shuffleboard to shuffleboard and basketball and indoor bocce.
Surf Beach: For the true beach holiday, you have the opportunity to enjoy 22 km of beachfront at Couran Cove Island Resort. The beach is approximately 2.5km from Reception – a very enjoyable walk or bicycle ride, or you can take the train which runs at regular intervals throughout the day on weekends and during peak holiday periods. Blue Gum Point: Experience the best of both nature and water coming together under the great Blue Gum. This relaxing area faces the lagoon and offers a great backdrop of the Resort and its facilities, especially under lights at night.
Sunset Beach: A trip to Couran Cove isn’t complete without visiting Sunset Beach on the Broadwater. Just a short walk from the central resort area Sunset beach is the perfect vantage point to watch the boats pass by and is a favourite spot for the resident Wallabies. As the name suggests though as the Sun goes down this is the place to be. Watch the spectacular Sunset over the Broadwater as the Sun disappears behind Tamborine Mountain and turns the sky into a postcard perfect Sunset every night.
