Pre-Arrival Information

Accommodation reservations and arrivals. Within seven working days of your accommodation booking, you will receive a reservation confirmation notice and 'Pre-Arrival Information' factsheet. As seats are strictly limited for each scheduled ferry service, ferry bookings are also essential.  We ask that you arrive at the ferry terminal one hour prior to the ferry departure time to allow us to complete an 'Airline- style' resort check-in and load luggage onto the ferry. Preparing your luggage - Information & Limitations:  As Couran Cove Island Resort ferry passenger terminal operates as an 'Airline-style' operation, passenger luggage conditions apply as follows. There is a maximum of 2 luggage items per person for checked baggage and these must weigh no more than 32kg per item. Additionally, a maximum of 2 items of hand luggage per person (excluding infants) is permitted on board the passenger ferry. Ferry stowage space is limited so please ensure you keep hand baggage and any items you may need immediately upon arrival, with you as check-in to the room is from 2.30pm. All checked luggage will be delivered directly to your room within an hour of arrival at the resort.

Getting to the Ferry Terminal

By Road.  Couran Cove Island Resort Departure Terminal is located at Hope Harbour, just 45 minutes from Coolangatta Airport and 60 minutes from Brisbane Airport. Please refer to the Resort Quick Links menu for detailed directions to the ferry departure terminal.

From the airport.  Coach and limousine transfers are available from both Gold Coast and Brisbane airports to our Ferry Departure Terminal on the Gold Coast. Travel time is approximately 60 -75 minutes from either airport to the ferry terminal. Couran Cove Island Resort recommends 'Brisbane Chauffer Drive and Coaches'. Bookings are essential for this service, so please phone our reservations team on 1800 268 726 for details and bookings at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. Please refer to the Resort Quick Links menu or click this link to view the Limousine and Coach airport transport schedule.

By train.  For guests arriving via train, the resort ferry departure terminal is approximately a 10 minute taxi ride from Coomera train station. For current train timetables visit TransInfo website and look for Robina/Gold Coast line or call 13 12 30.

Parking Fee. Secure outdoor airport-style car parking is available at the ferry departure terminal at a minimal cost of $5.00 per vehicle per day (to a maximum charge of $25.00 per stay). No pre-bookings for car parking are required.

Getting to the Island

Having arranged your tailored break, getting to your perfect Island escape couldn't be easier.

By Couran Cove Island Resort Ferry. The most popular way to get to Couran Cove Island Resort is with our scheduled island passenger ferry service. A relaxing 40 minute cruise along the Coomera River, with views of the luxury homes of Sovereign Islands and across the calm Broadwater to Couran Cove Island Resort is the perfect way to ease into your getaway mood. 
 
When checking in at our ferry terminal's state-of- the-art airline-style facility, you will receive your Resort Arrival Wallet which includes ferry boarding passes, 'During your stay' resort information brochure, weekly resort activity and dining guide and accommodation room keys if ready (accommodation room check in from 2.30pm). Your luggage will be safely stowed on board the ferry and delivered directly to your room on the resort.

Refer to our Resort Quick Links menu or click this link for the ferry timetable and cost (Ferry Timetable valid from 1 May 2010). Chartered water taxis are also available outside the normal ferry schedule operating hours and advance bookings are required with 48 hours notice and are subject to water taxi availability.

By private boat. Couran Cove Island Resort has a private marina reserved for the Resort guests and marina members' use only. If you plan to arrive by private boat, just let us know your vessel's registration and estimated time of arrival and we'll have a berth ready for you. Always pre-arrange your berth to avoid disappointment. To reserve your marina berth or for details on Marina Membership, call the Harbourmaster on +61 (0) 409 477 906. 

Check in. You are welcome to check in to your accommodation any time after 2.30pm. Please keep these times in mind when planning your ferry transfers to the island as we cannot guarantee early room check-ins.

Check out. Room check out time is 10.30am. Of course, you are most welcome to enjoy all other facilities until you depart the island. Your luggage can be held at the mainland Departure Terminal, so remember to pack a day bag.

Hospitality Suite. A hospitality villa is available if you are checking in early or want to stay after check out. The villa has showers, amenities, a lounge area and television for shared use by guests.

  • NOTE: The Resort Passenger Ferry Timetable has changed scheduled times from 1 May 2010. Ferry Service Timetable valid from 1 May 2010. Passenger Ferry Bookings are essential on all services as limited seats apply per service. 
  • Return ferry costs are included with all paid accommodation bookings, otherwise the cost is $50 per adult (15+ years), $25 per child (3 to 14 years), and $125 for a family pass (2 adults and  children per booking).
  • Brisbane and Gold Coast Airport scheduled coach transfers and private limousine bookings & costs available with our reservations team - 1800 268 726.
  • Secure airport style outdoor car parking from $5 per vehicle per day.
  • Resort accommodation check in from 2:30pm. Resort check out at 10:30am.
  • Private marina for own boat arrivals as resort accommodation guests or bona-fide marina members only.
  • No tobacco products are available for sale on the resort.
